Mount Mackenzie muscles up amid high gold prices

Resources and Energy Group has completed pit optimisation and life of mine scheduling for a 500,000-tonnes-per-annum operation at Mount Mackenzie in Central Queensland.

It is a step up from the production rate envisaged when the company released a scoping study late last year showing a strong case for the development of an open-cut gold mine at the site.

That work identified a 300,000-tonnes-per-annum open-cut development with on-site gold plant as the best case to progress.

But Resources and Energy Group in May announced a 44 per cent increase in. . .

Resource boost for Mount Mackenzie gold project

Resources and Energy Group has announced a 44 per cent increase in the resource at its Mount Mackenzie gold and silver project in Central Queensland.

It now stands at 3.42 million tonnes at a grade of 1.18g/tonne gold and 9g/tonne silver for a total of 129,000oz of gold and 862 ounces of silver.

Resources and Energy said the updated mineral resource estimate would be used for ongoing mine planning, which would provide a basis for advancing the project to detailed feasibility study stage.

Additional drilling and metallurgy studies will be carried out.

High prices spark fresh look at Mount Mackenzie gold

Resources and Energy Group is revisiting the figures for its Mount Mackenzie project in Central Queensland as gold prices head north of $2600.

It said a revised sale price would increase free cash flow for the gold-silver project to $54.6 million, from a previous estimate of about $30.5 million.

The review follows scoping study results released in December that showed a strong case for the development of an open-cut gold mine at the site, about 150km north-west of. . .

Study highlights Mount Mackenzie gold mine potential

A scoping study shows a strong case for the development of an open-cut gold mine at Mount Mackenzie in Central Queensland, Resources and Energy Group says.

The company was granted a mineral development licence last month for the entire Mount Mackenzie mineral resource and all land required for the project's development.

Resources and Energy Group said today the scoping study identified a 300,000-tonnes-per-annum open-cut development with on-site gold plant as the best case to progress.

The project, about 150km north-west of Rockhampton, would. . .
