Clean Teq wins contract for $2m CQ water project
Mackay Regional Council has awarded a tender for design and construction of the new Koumala Water Treatment Plant to Clean Teq Water.
It is a $2 million project, with the Queensland Government’s Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program contributing $801,767.94.
Mayor Greg Williamson said the new water treatment plant would help reduce the hardness of the water supply for the community, south of sarina.
“Data shows that while Koumala treated water is of acceptable quality from a health perspective, the water is higher in hardness than is ideal,” he said.
