Liebherr launches latest luffing jib crane

Liebherr has unveiled its next generation luffing jib crane, hailing the 440 HC-L as a response to ever faster construction site cycles.

Following on from the 357 HC-L, the new release comes with improved performance values and is available in two versions: the 440 HC-L 12/24 and the 18/36.

The maximum lifting capacity of the 440 HC-L 18/36 is 36 tonnes. It has also been possible to raise the tower height of both crane versions by one tower section compared to the previous model.

Liebherr rolls out updated wheel loader series

Liebherr is modernising its L 550, L 566 and L 580 wheel loaders with a boost for tip load, bucket sizes and engine power.

The new wheel loaders also feature a new electrohydraulic pilot control. This technology forms the basis for various intelligent features which increase safety and productivity during daily use.

The electrohydraulic pilot control enables operators to perform individual adjustments on the new wheel loaders. For example, they can set lift limitations and maximum tilt-out heights, thus reducing the risk of accidents in areas where space is restricted.

Big lift for Port of Townsville loading capacity

A new $30 million Berth 4 Crane and Cargo Terminal is set to supercharge the loading and unloading of container vessels at Port of Townsville.

The terminal’s completion has been marked by the debut of the port’s new Liebherr Post Panamax Ship-to-Shore crane.  

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the 100m tall crane would comfortably double the operational speeds of its predecessor. 

“The new Crane and Cargo Terminal is able to unload vessels at a rate of 35 twenty-foot equivalent containers per hour,” Mr Bailey said.

Liebherr adds 305-tonne truck to mining line

Liebherr has launched its T 274 mining truck, a 305-tonne machine promising fast cycle times, high production rates, low fuel consumption, and a low cost per tonne.

The manufacturer said the new addition to its mining product range offered a truck with the largest payload capacity in its class, moving more tonnes each hauling cycle.

It will load with four bucket passes of the Liebherr R 9800 hydraulic excavator and is also compatible with the brand new R 9600, the successor to the R 996B excavator.

Liebherr adds to crawler excavator range

The Liebherr Group has announced a newcomer to its stable of crawler excavators.

The R 928 G8 model rounds off the company's current range of Generation 8 crawler excavators.

"It is characterised by high drawbar pull, excellent load-bearing capacity and a large bucket," Liebherr said.

Liebherr has released two new electric crawler excavators for mine and quarry extraction.

Liebherr said the R 976-E electric crawler excavator and the R 980 SME-E were not just converted diesel machines. The excavators and their electric power system were designed and produced entirely by Liebherr.

New-look Liebherrs revealed in triple launch

Liebherr has unveiled three brand-new machines and a fresh look that combines its classic yellow livery with new black, grey and white accents.

The new products include the compact piling and drilling rig type LRB 23, the HS 8070.1 crawler crane and a battery-powered crawler crane line, the LR 1200.1 unplugged and the LR 1250.1 unplugged.

The LRB 23 is marketed as a new all-rounder for deep foundation work, with an engine output of 600 kW.

Liebherr restores a piece of history

Almost 60 years after its debut, Liebherr has restored the LSL 1500, one of the first wheel loader prototypes from the company's early years.

The restored LSL 1500 is the oldest Liebherr wheel loader in existence and the restoration process took about 650 hours.

Leibherr Bischofshofen plant managing director Martin Gscwend said respecting history was important for the company.

"When developing wheel loaders, we deal with the latest technologies and trends on a daily basis," he said.

Liebherr T 264 fleet does the job at Dawson

Five Liebherr T 264 off-highway haul trucks have joined MacKellar Mining's fleet this year at Dawson mine, near Moura in Central Queensland.

The Liebherr T 264 trucks are among an upgraded generation which includes a payload capacity of 240 tonnes, with power ratings up to 2013 kW/2700 HP.

For increased safety, the new front wheel design and upgraded braking system shorten reaction times, particularly when traveling downhill, Liebherr says.

Upgraded wheel motors and the rear gear ratio boosts torque and acceleration to provide similar cycle times with 10 per cent increased payload.

New demolition offering in Liebherr range

Liebherr has unveiled the latest addition to its crawler excavator line - the R 940 Demolition.

As a successor to the R 944 C, the R 940 Demolition complements the product range, which already includes the R 950 Demolition and the R 960 Demolition.

It features the Liebherr Demolition Control System, which received the Intermat Innovation Award.

This safety system shows the driver the position of the demolition tool, reducing the potential for an operating error that could impair the stability of the machine.

Carmichael construction kicks on

Adani Mining has released footage of its Liebherr 996 excavator and CAT 796 dump trucks completing their first dig and haulage operations at the Carmichael coal project.

The company said the machines were digging and hauling materials to make roads at the site.

The Liebherr 996 is one of the largest production diggers in the world, weighing in at over 600 tonnes. The bucket holds 36 cubic metres and carries over 70 tonnes of material in each scoop.

The new footage comes after the company last week marked 12 months since the start of construction on its Galilee Basin coal. . .
