It’s a case of ‘high and lighty’ in coal terminal upgrade

A project is underway at RG Tanna Coal Terminal in Gladstone to upgrade a set of light towers and reduce energy consumption by 55 per cent.

Four coal stockpile light towers reaching almost 50m high will be upgraded in the first stage of work and will feature new arc-fault rated switchboards, control system equipment and the latest LED light technology.

It is part of an infrastructure project that includes the upgrade of 18 light towers over three years and is expected to cost about $8 million.

Roadshow to spark better business skills for tradies

Electrical industry peak body Master Electricians Australia is kicking off a roadshow this week to help promote a program to hone tradies' business skills.

The first event is planned from 5.30pm-8.30pm today (February 11) in Cairns at at Endeavour Park Football Centre, Manunda.

It will launch MEA's Master Program and share information on new amendments to the Wiring Rules and the new Battery Standard for Solar Installations.

Portable power solution draws accolades for Linked

Mackay-based Linked Energy is shining on the national stage, with its EcoSkid portable remote power plant taking out a Master Electricians Australia excellence award.

It was the second year running that Linked Energy has topped the Energy Efficient Project of the Year category in the national awards.
