Great Northern raises cash for NQ gold projects

Great Northern Minerals has launched a bid to raise $3 million to fast track work at its Camel Creek and Big Rush gold projects in North Queensland.

The Perth-based junior has announced a placement of shares to sophisticated and professional investors as well as a rights issue to shareholders to raise the capital.

The funds will be used to systematically drill test the Camel Creek gold project over about 2km of strike and allow for additional work on the Big Rush gold deposit as well as augmenting working capital.

Big Rush - Mikes Anomaly landscape - Great Northern Minerals

New target at Big Rush gold tenements

Great Northern Minerals has identified a new area of interest at the Big Rush gold project in North Queensland dubbed Mikes Anomaly.

Rockchip samples collected along the spine of a previously undrilled largearsenic anomaly have returned assay results including 26.64 g/t gold.

The company describes the area as a stand-out drill target for 2021 and plans to go through the approval process for drill testing.

Diamond drilling at Big Rush as resource estimate nears

Great Northern Minerals has launched a diamond drilling campaign at Big Rush, expected to take 10 days to complete.

It comes after the company recently flagged potential for a significant gold system at the project, south of Greenvale in North Queensland.

The initial diamond drilling is focused underneath the central pit area of the historical gold mine, where previous RC drilling returned results including 4m at 20.73g/t gold (including 1m at 81.88 g/t gold).

Anomalous gold mineralisation at Big Rush is now documented to occur over at least 1km of strike, with additional strike extension apparent. . .

Great Northern boosts funds for NQ gold campaign

North Queensland gold developer Great Northern Minerals has raised $1.6 million through a share placement to accelerate its exploration push.

The company is focused on the Golden Ant group of projects that it acquired in August 2019, which includes the former Big Rush, Camel Creek and Golden Cup gold mines.

It said this week it was extending its current drilling program at Big Rush, south of Greenvale in North Queensland.

Planning for deeper diamond drilling underneath the central pit at that site is well underway.

Spotlight on Camel Creek as maiden drill program starts

Great Northern Minerals says its maiden drilling campaign at Camel Creek is due to start next week as scheduled after gaining access approval.

The work will test mineralisation under the historical gold mining pits at the North Queensland site.

And the company has marked the latest milestone with the release of new footage of the project with a fly-through of the historic drilling there and the proposed program (link below).

Eagle Drilling NQ wins gold exploration contract

Charters Towers-based company Eagle Drilling NQ has won the contract for an exploration campaign across three North Queensland gold projects.

Great Northern Minerals announced today it had appointed Eagle Drilling NQ to begin testing at the Camel Creek project, followed by the Golden Cup and Big Rush projects.

The program consists of about 3400m of reverse circulation drilling across the three projects.

Great Northern Minerals said Eagle Drilling NQ had successfully completed the last two drilling programs for the company and was regarded as the most experienced and reliable drilling contractor in North Queensland.

Maiden 47,000oz gold resource at Big Rush

Great Northern Minerals has announced a maiden 47,000 oz gold resource at its Big Rush mine site, south of Greenvale in North Queensland.

It is part of the Golden Ant group of projects the Perth-based company acquired in August 2019, which also includes the former Camel Creek and Golden Cup gold mines

Managing director Cameron McLean said the estimation for the Central Lode a Big Rush followed exciting high-grade RC (reverse circulation) drilling assays reported in December and January.

Great Northern expands its Golden Ant empire

Great Northern Minerals is expanding its ground around the Golden Ant gold projects in North Queensland.

The company says it has been granted two new exploration permits, taking the combined project area to 695sq km.

One permit is linked to the Camel Creek and Golden Cup projects while the other surrounds granted mining leases at Big Rush.

Great Northern Minerals last week announced a maiden gold resource of 256,000 tonnes at 3.6g/tonne gold for about 30,000oz of contained gold at the Golden Cup mine.

Great Northern Minerals this week announced a maiden 30,000oz gold resource at the Golden Cup mine in North Queensland.

It is part of the Golden Ant group of projects the Perth-based company acquired in August, which also includes the former Camel Creek and Big Rush gold mines.

The JORC interim resource estimate announced this week for Golden Cup is 256,000 tonnes at 3.6g/tonne gold for about 30,000oz of contained gold.

New owners get drilling at NQ gold projects

Reverse circulation drilling has kicked off at Great Northern Minerals' Big Rush gold project, 200km west of Townsville.

The 1000m program is designed to back up historic results and help build a JORC resource for the project.

It will focus on the central pit area at Big Rush, the largest former producing gold mines among the three that make up the company's Golden Ant group of projects in North Queensland.

Great Northern Minerals has recently completed a 639m drill program of eight holes at Golden Cup, with Eagle Drilling from Charters Towers carrying out the work.

Great Northern details drill plans for NQ gold sites

The newly branded Great Northern Minerals says it will carry out 2000m of RC and diamond drilling from this month at its Big Rush and Golden Cup projects in North Queensland.

The first priority will be Big Rush, where drilling will focus on the historic mine's Central Pit.

GNM (formerly Greenpower Energy) said the standard and intensity of drilling by the previous operator at that site meant it expected to be able to produce a JORC-compliant mineral. . .
