Maiden 47,000oz gold resource at Big Rush

Great Northern Minerals has announced a maiden 47,000 oz gold resource at its Big Rush mine site, south of Greenvale in North Queensland.
It is part of the Golden Ant group of projects the Perth-based company acquired in August 2019, which also includes the former Camel Creek and Golden Cup gold mines
Managing director Cameron McLean said the estimation for the Central Lode a Big Rush followed exciting high-grade RC (reverse circulation) drilling assays reported in December and January.
“In the last two-month period we have released maiden resource estimates at both Golden Cup and Big Rush indicating the potential of the company’s projects,” he said.
“It is hard not to be excited by the prospects of 2020 and what it holds for the company.”
The Big Rush mine has a history of producing 58,039 oz of gold through heap leaching and 10,000 oz through the CIL process.
Great Northern says the Central Lode is open along strike to the north-east and south-west and also at depth.
The company recently completed an eight-hole RC drilling program at Big Rush and plans a significant drilling program this year.
The mineral resource estimate announced today of 558,322 tonnes at 2.62g/tonne gold for 47,006 oz of contained gold used a cut-off grade of 0.75 g/tonne gold. (Full results HERE)
