Christmas Q&A – Damien Keys
Damien Keys is the managing director with explorer Sunshine Gold. He joined iQ for a quick Christmas Q&A….
What do you count as the biggest success of your organisation for the last 12 months?
It has been a big first year for Sunshine Gold.
Our first drilling campaign at Triumph was a great start. We intersected thick, high-grade mineralisation at very shallow depths.

We purchased the Ravenswood West project in April and have been highly active in the area.
But I think developing solid relationships with the communities we are working in and growing our team with quality staff have been highlights.
What goals and expectations do you have for 2022?
To deliver a solid maiden resource at Triumph and for ongoing exploration success at Ravenswood.
It will be nice to put some solid field time in at the Hodgkinson and Investigator projects too.
How will you be spending the Christmas/New Year period?
Relaxing with family and friends, enjoying too much good food and drink.
And enjoying a bit of beach time with the kids on Maggie Island.
What is the worst/funniest Christmas present you have ever received (or were given)?
The mother-in-law got me a vacuum one year. I took the hint 😉
What is your best/worst Christmas cracker or Dad joke?
I opened a bon bon at an early Christmas lunch over the weekend and had this one –
Q: What did Santa do when he went speed dating? A: He pulled a cracker
