Contract awarded for Horseshoe Bay plant upgrade
RPC Technologies has been awarded a tender for a $900,000-plus improvement project on the Horseshoe Bay wastewater treatment plant at Magnetic Island.
Townsville Mayor Jenny Hill said the project would support up to 30 jobs, including local electrical and civil contractors.
“This is a highly specialised project with no local suppliers available, so the evaluation considered not only the best value for money for the ratepayers, but also the engagement of local subcontractors where possible,” Cr Hill said.
“This project will provide RPC and their subcontractors substantial work over six months, which is one way council can support. . .
