Budget boost to fire up gas

The Federal Budget will include a boost for the gas sector, including more than $6 million to accelerate the development of the Wallumbilla Gas Supply Hub in Queensland.

State opens the way for more gas development

Pure Energy Resources/Strata X and Santos Ventures have been given the green light to explore and develop gas on 164sq km of highly prospective land in south-west Queensland.

Mines Minister Dr Anthony Lynham said Pure Energy/Strata X’s Venus project would explore a 153q km block west of Miles and Santos would explore two blocks totalling 101sq km near the Wallumbilla gas hub.
