Council’s pleas to prevent sewerage blockages
A three tonne 'ragberg' has been pulled from Mackay City Council's sewerage system.
It's prompted pleas from the council to flush only the three p's: pee, poo and (toilet) paper.
The solid waste material, dubbed a 'ragberg', was removed from the city's No. 1 pump station at Sydney St this week.
A total of 12 loads of the ragberg were extracted in a four-hour operation, said Engineering and Commercial Infrastructure director Jason Devitt.
