The Queensland Renewable Energy Council (QREC) is calling on the Crisafulli Government to permanently remove Best Practice Industrial Conditions (BPICs).
This is to ensure renewable energy projects can be delivered quicker and more affordably, while maintaining strong workplace health and safety standards said QREC Chief Executive Officer Katie-Anne Mulder.
Ms Mulder said the Government’s decision to immediately suspend BPICs after last year’s election and to establish the Queensland Productivity Commission (QPC) with its first inquiry focused on the construction industry was a welcome step.

Geoscientists have been asked to come up with solutions to a looming resource supply scarcity which is forecast in line with the transition to a low emissions economy.
They include ‘remining’ waste from tailings dams.

Genex Power has secured certainty for additional renewable energy generation with a 10-year purchase agreement inked with EnergyAustralia.

BHP has signed a deal that will see it meet half of the electricity needs across its Queensland coal mines from low-emissions sources, including solar and wind.
