Piccadilly drilling program underway

Cannindah Resources kicked off drilling at its Piccadilly gold project, 60km north of Charters Towers, over the weekend. The initial program will cover about 23 locations with more than 2500m of RC holes.

Cannindah said recent trenching results at the project had provided excellent targets, which the company intended to pursue in current drilling along with other areas of interest within the project.

Good start to Thalanga gold hunt

Red River Resources has reported encouraging initial results from drilling at the Don and New Homestead prospects as it works to build a gold inventory within its Thalanga site.

“The drill results received from the Don are an excellent start to our Thalanga gold exploration program, demonstrating the presence of gold mineralisation at shallow depths," Red River Resources managing director Mel Palancian said.

Red River Resources is working to build a gold inventory within trucking distance of its Thalanga operations with a new drilling program.

Red River produces zinc, copper and lead with gold and silver credits at its Thalanga operations in North Queensland, where it is currently mining the Far West deposit.

The company said its reverse circulation (RC) drill program aimed to identify high-grade bulk tonnage shoots of gold-bearing quartz veins that could be processed at Thalanga.

Red River Resources is increasing exploration activities at its Thalanga operations in North Queensland, targeting copper-rich base metal mineralisation.

The program aims to increase production and/or extend mine life at Thalanga, which produces zinc, copper and leadconcentrates, with gold and silver credits.

Red River has commenced a microgravity survey, targeting polymetallic and copper-rich massive sulphide mineralisation at Thalanga Range and the Coronation prospects to define potential massive sulphide drill targets. . .

Red River locks in renewed offtake deal

Red River Resources has renewed its lead and zinc concentrateofftake agreements and an extended working capital facility with commodities trading group Trafigura.

The company owns the Thalanga base metal operations 55km west of Charters Towers, where it has been producing copper, lead and zinc concentrate since September 2017.

Red River said the new offtake agreements would commence in January 2021 and run for three years.

Under the terms of the agreements, zinc and lead concentrates will be trucked approximately 200km to the Port of Townsville for onward delivery to customers.

Red River into exceptionally high-grade ore at Far West

Red River Resources has hit a sweet spot at its Far West underground mine in North Queensland, reporting exceptionally high-grade polymetallic ore.

Consistent production from Far West is driving metal production at Red River's Thalanga operations, with the site achieving record quarterly copper concentrate production last quarter of 4,073 dry metric tonnes.

The company said today exceptionally high-grade polymetallic ore had been intersected and mined recently on 620 Level of the underground mine.

Cut 26 in the 620 Level Western Ore Drive intersected massive and semi massive sulphide ore, with a face grade of 4.7m. . .

Thalanga beats previous copper record by 51 per cent

Red River Resources has reported record quarterly copper production from its Thalanga operation in North Queensland - with a 51 per cent increase on last quarter's bumper result.

With stable mine production and mill throughput during the first quarter of 2020-21, the company produced 4073 tonnes of copper concentrate, up from 2696 tonnes in the previous three months.

Thalanga also produced 7026 tonnes of high-quality zinc concentrate and 1947 tonnes of high-quality lead concentrate last quarter.

Thalanga operations mined 99,000 tonnes of ore at 11.7 per cent zinc last quarter and processed 103,000 tonnes. . .

High-grade silver shows as Red River hits Orient

Red River Resources has reported high-grade silver results from sampling at the Orient silver-indium prospect near Herberton, North Queensland.

The company said it had conducted initial reconnaissance sampling, taking 16 samples at East Orient and eight samples at West Orient.

The East Orient sampling returned assays up to 1365 g/t silver, 444 g/tindium, 25.8 per cent lead and 18.7 per cent zinc.

West Orient sampling returned assays up to 1730 g/t silver, 356 g/t indium, 39.1 per cent lead and 32.1 per cent zinc.

Indium on the radar in new exploration grants round

A hunt for indium near old Herberton district mine workings is among the projects to win a share of almost $4 million in the latest round of Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) grants.

Red River Resources is among the 24 companies receiving State Government support for exploration focused on the new economy minerals required for advanced electronics and renewable technologies.

The funds have been bolstered by the first instalment of a $10 million-plus booster pack announced last month to supercharge exploration and to drive future resources jobs.

Red River Resources has commenced mine design and scheduling activities for the Liontown gold project in North Queensland.

It is focusing on a combined open pit and underground development with a conceptual mine life of more than 10 years.

The Liontown project has a current mineral resource of 4.1 million tonnes at 0.6per cent copper, 1.9 per cent lead, 5.9 per cent zinc, 1.1 g/t gold and 29g/t silver.

The site is about 32km in a direct line from Red River’s Thalanga operations and 107km by road.

Red metal record for Thalanga operation

Red River Resources has reported a record quarter for copper at its Thalanga operation in North Queensland.

The bumper result stemmed from an increase in copper grade in the ore milled (to 1.0 per cent copper) and a record copper recovery to copper concentrate of 84.7 per cent.

The company achieved a record quarterly production of 2697 tonnes of high-quality copper concentrate.

At the same time it produced 4310 tonnes of high-quality zinc concentrate and 1133 tonnes of high-quality lead concentrate.

Red River builds gold options at Thalanga

Red River Resources is building its gold portfolio in the Thalanga region with an exploration permit granted for the Toomba project and an application in play for the Don project.

Small-scale historical gold mining activities have occurred in both project areas, which are 20-30km north-west of Red River's Thalanga operations in the Charters Towers region.

Red River processes base metals at its Thalanga mill, but revealed yesterday that it had recently run old tailings from the Liontown gold project through the plant to produce about 600 tonnes of concentrate containing about 1300oz gold.

Waste rock dump shows gold potential for Red River

Thalanga mine operator Red River Resources has identified gold production potential at a waste rock dump in its newly acquired Hillgrove gold-antimony project in New South Wales.

The waste dump was created during the mining of the Bakers Creek Mine, which operated from 1877 to 1921, producing more than 300,000 oz at about 49 g/t gold.

The ore was hand sorted underground and again on surface, with the dump containing the surface hand sorting rejects.

Red River says the dump is about 105m by 70m in area and 15-20m deep.
