Mendi poised to start Charters Towers housing development

North Queensland's Mendi Group has lodged an application to start stage one of a new housing development project in Charters Towers.

The proposed development, Grand Secret Estate, is located near the Charters Towers Showground and will initially see 17 new lots ranging from 5,000sq m to 1.05ha in size released.

Further stages featuring smaller block sizes are anticipated.

Mendi Group wins $15m Adani civil works contract

Townsville’s Mendi Group has won a $15 million contract for civil engineering works on Adani’s Carmichael coal project in Central Queensland.

Carmichael mine and rail project director David Boshoff said the contract was another example of how Adani was delivering on its promise to create jobs and opportunities for Townsville and regional Queensland.

“Under this contract, Mendi Group will construct a series of new roads and resurface some existing roads in and around the Carmichael mine site,” Mr Boshoff said.

Mendi adds to Townsville quarrying might

The Mendi Group has acquired a third quarry in the Townsville area to supply the local construction industry. 

Mendi managing director Jeffrey Doyle said the new CAMM North quarry would be ramping up production to supply raw materials on the northern and southern approaches to Townsville.

“The purchase of the previously-named Wild Boar Quarry is a very strategic step for us and represents a significant local investment by the Mendi Group, ” he said.
