Wet halts Agate Creek mine as processing kicks off

The first ore from the current mining campaign at North Queensland's Agate Creek gold mine is running through the plant at Lorena, 15km east of Cloncurry.

Mine owner Laneway Resources said there was about 4400 tonnes of 6g/t gold ore expected to be processed over the next 10 days.

The company has temporarily suspended operations at Agate Creek, about 40km south of Forsayth, due to localised flooding and road closures.

It says almost 500mm of rain fell on the area over a 10-day period in. . .

Gold mining resumes at Agate Creek

Blast hole drilling has commenced for the restart of high-grade gold mining at Agate Creek in North Queensland.

About 9000oz gold is to be mined in two stages from the Sherwood Pitin the current campaign.

Project owner Laneway Resources said mining contractor Maas Group was mobilising heavy earthmoving machinery and blast hole drilling was underway in the pit area, with the initial blast planned for next week.

It plans to mine 43,000 tonnes grading at 6.5g/t from the Sherwood open pit, to be processed in two stages.

The initial 18,000 tonnes will be processed at. . .

Maas wins mining contract for Agate Creek restart

Laneway Resources is set to resume gold production from Agate Creek next month, with Maas Group appointed as the mining contractor for the operation.

Material from the Sherwood high-grade deposit at Agate Creek will be toll treated at the Lorena gold mine CIL processing plant, about 15km east of Cloncurry.

Laneway said it was targeting the mining of 43,000 tonnes of ore grading 6.5g/t for 8,950oz in the new campaign at Agate Creek, about 40km south. . .

Agate Creek modelling exceeds expectations

A new gold mining campaign to start at Agate Creek this quarter will be exploiting almost twice as much high-grade ore as originally expected.

The Sherwood high-grade zone has been remodelled, incorporating results of a recent 34-hole (2068m) RC drilling program.

Project owner Laneway Resources says Whittle optimisation has yielded a Whittle shell containing 45,000 tonnes of high-grade gold materialgrading 6.7 g/t gold - almost two times larger than expected pre-drilling.

Mining contractor, ore transportation and toll treatment agreements for third-party off-site processing are expected to be finalised once the mine. . .

Added shine for Agate Creek restart plans

Laneway Resources has reported further encouraging high-grade gold results as it works towards a mine restart at the Agate Creek project in North Queensland.

An initial cut-back of the existing open pit allowed access for an RC rig to undertake a 34-hole 2068m drill program at the Sherwood deposit.

Laneway said the program, completed by AED Drilling, was designed to confirm a separate deeper zone of mineralisation identified last year.

It also aimed to delineate additional ore tonnes for the next phase of mining without significantly increasing the stripping ratio of waste material required to be mined. . .

August restart on the cards at Agate Creek

Laneway Resources is targeting an August restart for gold mining at its Agate Creek gold project, 40km south of Forsayth in North Queensland.

Blast hole drilling has begun in preparation for the planned Sherwood open-cut expansion (cutback), with the first two blasts successfully completed, the company reported today.

Waste material is now being shifted to allow for access to ore leftbehind during mining in 2019 as well as an additional ore shootintersected during drilling late last year.

This initial phase of mining is also designed to allow for a follow-up program of RC drilling to be undertaken on. . .

High-grade resource lift at Agate Creek gold project

Laneway Resources is gearing up to resume mining at Agate Creek this year after recent drilling allowed it to increase the high-grade gold resource at the North Queensland site.

The company said it was planning to extend the existing Sherwood open pit and, if warranted, commence a further pit cut back.

It is evaluating mining options (contractor or dry hire), completing related mining notifications and approvals, and finalising a processing plant toll treatment agreement.

The new mineral resource for the high-grade area at Sherwood, taking into account mining depletion during 2019, is 205,000 tonnes at 5.5. . .

Laneway pursues second phase of mining at Agate Creek

New drilling results are pointing to the potential for Laneway Resources to launch a further mining campaign at Agate Creek as it looks for quick options to cash in on current high gold prices.

About 70,000 tonnes of ore from the Sherwood and Sherwood West gold prospects within that project was processed through the Blackjack plant at an average grade of 7.3 g/t between April and September this year.

Laneway Resources had an agreement with plant owner Maroon Gold, which saw Maroon undertake and meet the costs of the mining, transportation and processing the ore.
