Uplifting milestone for $850m wind farm project
Australia’s largest wind farm has passed a major milestone, with construction of the final turbine completed at Coopers Gap, near Kingaroy.
AGL head of construction Brian McEvoy said the final blade on the 123rd wind turbine was hoisted into place by crane and fitted to the turbine hub by the rigging crew on Friday last week.
He said the entire $850 million project was expected to be completed in the second half of 2020.
“This is a significant milestone for everyone involved in the Coopers Gap Wind Farm project including the owner, the Powering Australian Renewables Fund,” Mr McEvoy. . .
