Concentrate quality on target at Mount Carbine

Speciality Metals is aiming to produce separate scheelite and wolframite concentrates at its newly commissioned Mount Carbine retreatment plant this quarter.

The company, in joint venture with CRONIMET, is retreating a tailings stockpile at the Far North Queensland site, reporting an average grade of 0.08-0.12 per cent WO3 (tungsten trioxide), with a recoverable portion of about 70 per cent.

It had successfully moved into an operating mode of two 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, Speciality Metals said in its quarterly report this week.

Minor modifications to the retreatment plant had been completed during the ramp. . .
