Funds flow to get dam proposal ‘shovel ready’
Federal funding of $10 million promised during the last election for the Urannah Dam project has now been signed off.
The funding is allocated for Bowen Collinsville Enterprise to progress the Central Queensland dam proposal to shovel-ready stage.
Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen said the 1.5 million megalitre Urannah Dam would be a game-changer for the region.
It would open up at least 20,000ha of high-value agricultural land, support regional communities like Bowen, Collinsville and Proserpine and also provide water for mining, he said.
