Impact builds on Blackridge gold base

Impact Minerals has lodged two new applications for exploration permits at its Blackridge gold project, near Clermont in Central Queensland.

Together with an existing granted EPM and mining lease, they will take Impact's tenements in the area to about 150sq km - taking in about 90 per cent of the historic Blackridge goldfield.

The gold mined at Blackridge was in the form of coarse nuggets mined mostly underground.

Impact’s new applications cover ground previously tested by reverse circulation drilling at Hard Hill and by reverse circulation and large diameter Calweld drilling at Pewt’s Hill.

Impact pulls out of Clermont gold project

Impact Minerals has pulled out of the Blackridge gold project north of Clermont, only a month after announcing plans for trial mining.

Managing director Michael Jones said the move followed extended discussions regarding a renegotiation of the option agreement that Impact Minerals had with Rock Solid Holdings over key Mining Lease applications at the project

The Board of Impact had elected not to proceed with the exercise of its option to acquire 95 per cent of the tenements, he said.

Blackridge gold project shows large-scale potential

Bulk sampling at the Blackridge gold project, 25km north of Clermont, has backed up the project's potential as a large bulk mining opportunity

Impect Minerals recently completed a second phase of bulk sampling at the site along with wet gravity processing trials.

Gold returned from all 12 trenches taken over 1000m of trend with grades ranging from 0.07g to 2.17g per cubic metre, at an average of 0.36g.
