Green light for $350m CQ wind farm
A new $350 million wind farm has won State approval, 20km west of Biloela in Central Queensland.
The State Government says Lacour Energy's Banana Range project will create up to 150 construction jobs.
Planning Minister Cameron Dick said the new wind farm would boost the total capacity of wind generation approved by the Queensland Government to 2240 megawatts, enough to power over one million homes.
The site would include 50 turbines, he said.
Lacour Energy director James Townsend said the wind farm was in an area of excellent wind resources and an existing high voltage 132-kilovolt transmission line. . .
