Approval for $550m CQ solar farm

Acciona Energia has received a key approval to take its $550 million Aldoga Solar Farm project near Gladstone forward.

The State Government has approved the application for a Material Change of Use for the solar PV farm and grid connection assets at the site.

Acciona said this approval covered the area approved for development two years ago and the expansion area surrounding the Larcom Creek Terminal Station.

It will enable Acciona to deliver a solar PV farm with a capacity of up to 600MWp, reduce civil construction costs, and optimise the levelised cost of electricity.

Aldoga $400m solar farm plans advance

Acciona Energy’s proposed $400 million Aldoga solar farm at Gladstone is a step closer after the State Coordinator-General approved its development application.

Development of the planned 762ha solar farm in the city’s State Development Area (SDA) is expected to create up to 240 construction jobs and 10 ongoing jobs.

State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning Minister Cameron Dick said the solar farm would generate about 250 megawatts of energy at maximum capacity.

“The power generated will be fed into the national electricity grid via a connection into the Powerlink Larcom Creek Station," he said.
