Sunshine crunches numbers from 96 Liontown holes

Sunshine Metals is drawing on data from 96 drillholes as it works to update the Liontown mineral resource by the end of the year. The 18,150m of drilling carried out since the last mineral resource update in 2020 comprises 47 RC holes targeting oxide and shallow mineralisation and 49 diamond holes (12,445m) targeting deeper mineralisation. It will add about 198 new intercepts that exceed economic cut-off. "Furthermore the drilling has affirmed the continuity of mineralisation toward the “gap” between the Liontown and Liontown East Resources, where drilling is too sparse to determine a resource estimate," he said. Best 10 Liontown intercepts for update Of the 96 drill holes informing the update, the best results from the oxide gold RC holes include: 14m at 4.12g/t gold, 82g/t silver (from 40m, LLRC200) 13m at 2.12g/t gold, 490g/t silver (from 46m, LLRC221) 4m at 6.26g/t gold, 167g/t silver (from 25m, LLRC207) 11m at 2.20g/t gold, 11g/t silver (from 29m, LLRC199) 6m at 3.58g/t gold, 106 g/t silver (from 22m, LLRC223) The best five results from diamond holes include: 11.0m at 1.74g/t gold, 0.86 per cent copper, 9.17 per cent zinc, 5.05 per cent lead, 179g/t silver (19.02 per cent zinc equivalent, from 173.4m, LTDD22057A) 8.1m at 10.65g/t gold (17.77 per cent ZnEq, from 152.2m, LTDD22055) 3.0m at 13.34g/t gold, 0.45 per cent copper, 1.58per cent zinc, (23.96 per cent ZnEq, from 89.0m, LLRC220) 7.0m at 2.50g/t gold, 0.41 per cent copper, 11.89per cent zinc, 5.04per cent lead (18.6 per cent ZnEq, from 94.0m, LTDD22070) 9.0m at 1.54g/t gold, 1.67 per cent copper, 5.29 per cent zinc, (12.51 per cent ZnEq, from 79.0m, LTDD22080) Greater Liontown currently hosts a resource of 4.94Mt at 12.0 per cent ZnEq, taking in the Liontown, Liontown East, Waterloo and Orient deposits. The Liontown component of the resource was last updated in March 2020 and totalled 2.29Mt at 10.78 per cent ZnEq.
