Results back hopes Iltani on to something big at Orient

Early drilling and mapping results bear out Iltani Resources' view that it is dealing with a very large mineralised system at Orient, according to managing director Donald Garner. Assay results from the company's Stage 1 drilling program at the far north Queensland project confirm the presence of extensive silver-lead-zinc-indium-antimony-tin mineralisation. Iltani says they support the potential for Orient to host near-surface, potential bulk-tonnage mineralisation amenable to open-pit mining. The reverse circulation (RC) drilling program comprised 14 drill holes for 2034m drilled, with assay results received from seven drill holes and the remaining results pending. Highlights include an intercept of 38m at 69 g/t silver, 1.3 per cent lead, 1.4 per cent zinc, 7 g/t indium, 319 g/t antimony and 0.1 per cent tine from 19m downhole. This included a 4m section grading at 89 g/t silver, 2.0 per cent zinc, 2.1 per cent lead, 22 g/t indium, 329 g/t antimony and 0.04 per cent tin from 20m downhole plus 7m at 180 g/t silver, 3.0 per cent lead, 3.2 per cent zinc, 12 g/t indium, 870 g/t antimony and 0.4 per cent tin from 27m downhole. The Orient – Deadman Creek system size (alteration and mineralisation) stretches in excess of 3sq km. Iltani Resources managing director Donald Garner. "Drilling and mapping results have confirmed our view that we are dealing with a very large mineralised system at Orient, with the epithermal component of the system exposed at surface and the potential for a mineralised porphyry at depth," Mr Garner said. "Iltani has started planning a Stage 2 drill program at Orient – following up on Stage 1 drilling, where we will seek to extend the mineralisation intersected in Stage 1 and test the high-priority targets at Vein 1 and Deadman Creek. "Stage 2 drilling aims to better understand the extent of the mineralisation intersected in Stage 1 plus delineate additional bulk tonnage mineralisation at Vein 1 and Deadman Creek as we move forward in our understanding of the Orient project. "Subject to availability and permitting, we intend to mobilise a rig to site as soon as possible.” The Orient project is located about 20km west of the historic mining town of Herberton and 9km north of Irvinebank. Mineralisation in the project area was discovered in 1886 and was mined until 1924, with historic mining activities occurring at both Orient West and Orient East which are located approximately 2km apart. Iltani acquired the project in December 2022 from Red River Resources subsidiary Cromarty Resources (in administration).
