SunWater says it is investigating local procurement opportunities and preparing initial expression of interest (EOI) and tender documents for the $352 million Rookwood Weir project, 60km south-west of Rockhampton in Central Queensland.
Jointly funded by the Queensland and Federal governments, the development will deliver about 76,000 megalitres of water per annum for irrigators, industry and urban supply across the Capricornia region.
Pending the finalisation of partnership arrangements between the State and Federal governments, SunWater expects to deliver two work packages:
- Gogango intersection upgrade
- Rookwood Weir construction and associated works (main works package).
- Relocating the existing Gogango intersection approximately 200m west from its current location
- Widening the pavement to provide a new intersection layout with sheltered turning lanes and auxiliary lanes
- Upgrading the local road network through Gogango.
