Genex Power has announced the completion of the 50MW/100MWh Bouldercombe Battery Project construction at Rockhampton, which required two replacement Megapacks after a fire in September. Genex said a period of testing was undertaken by Tesla after the installation of the two replacement Megapack units (pictured above), before the final outstanding hold point tests were completed with Powerlink and the Australian Energy Market Operator in December. "Following this milestone and conclusion of ancillary documentation with Tesla, Genex has granted the final construction milestone and made the final milestone payments to Tesla to conclude the construction phase of the project," the company stated this week. Since conclusion of testing on December 12, the project has been operating using 40 Megapacks at its full capacity of 50MW/100MWh. Cannindah Resources is on the hunt for a new chairman after a decision to move Tom Pickett (pictured left) to the role of managing director from executive chairman. Announcing the shift, the company said it was now focused on the delivery of the expansion of the copper-gold prospects at the Mount Cannindah project in Central Queensland. "Michael Hansel will move from non-executive director to interim chairman until a suitable candidate can be found by the company." Whitebark Energy has signed a Heads of Terms with CeraPhi Energy to support the development of its Australian geothermal assets. It follows Whitebark’s recent announcement of its successful exploration licence application for geothermal energy consisting of 190 sub-blocks about 25km from Brisbane. CeraPhi Energy specialises in geothermal technology solutions and delivery, including providing geothermal development consultancy services and deploying it’s proprietary CeraPhiWell™ technology. A diamond drilling campaign at Brumby Ridge in North-West Queensland has so far failed to intersect the expected broad intercepts of copper mineralisation found in three RC holes last year. Cooper Metals said this week that three diamond drill holes had been completed to date for 753.4m, with all three holes intersecting a relatively narrow zone of (~1-3m) visual sulphide mineralisation in a steeply dipping quartz-carbonate vein. "At this early stage of follow-up drilling, the implications for the size and grade potential of Brumby Ridge is not yet well understood, requiring more drill holes to determine its potential," Cooper Metals managing director Ian Warland said. "Diamond drilling is still in progress and RC drilling will start shortly focusing on two areas initially."
