The Cracow gold operation completed a tailings storage facility (TSF) upgrade in early January (pictured above), adding 1 million cubic metres of capacity to extend the mine life. Owner Aeris Resources said the project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. Cracow reported gold production of 11.1koz at AISC of A$2,407/oz in the December quarter, in line with plan. It is expected to produce 38-48koz this financial year. Mining operations at Aeris Resources' Mount Colin site in north-west Queensland have been running ahead of plan due to strong performance from the “cave” zone material. However, the company said only one of the two processing runs originally scheduled was completed in the December quarter, resulting in copper production significantly below plan at 1.6kt at AISC of $5.38/lb. To assist with working capital management the company has reached agreement with Glencore to undertake monthly part payment for ore stockpiles in between processing runs. Chatham Rock Phosphate has set up a new Australian subsidiary company, Organoselenium, to progress its selenium project in Queensland. The tenements Gunnerside EPM28676 and Tambo EPM 28606, that form the basis of the project, will be transferred from its subsidiary Avenir Makatea into the new company. Chatham said Organoselenium had has attracted four new investors who recognised the value of selenium, which recently added to Australia's critical minerals list. Greenvale Energy has reached an agreement to sell its remaining 20 per cent stake in the Georgina Basin IOCG Project in the Northern Territory to Astute Metals. The deal, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, will see it gain up to 10 million Astute shares depending on project milestones and increase Greenvale's stake in Astute from 11.21 per cent to 12.27 per cent. "This streamlines Greenvale’s business and ensures we can focus our full resources and attention on commercialising the flagship Alpha Torbanite Project while also bringing our exciting new helium and hydrogen assets to account over the next 12 months," Greenvale chairman Neil Biddle said. ACCIONA Energia reports that the final concrete foundation has been poured at the MacIntyre wind farm, in the Southern Downs region in Queensland. Installing the 162 foundations involved blasting and excavating more than 2000 cubic metres of rock, placing 130 cubic metres of blinding concrete, fixing 90 tonnes of steel reinforcement and completing an intensive eight-hour, 640 cubic metres concrete pour for each one.
