Andromeda Metals has completed the sale of its Drummond gold project in central Queensland to Trigg Minerals subsidiary Rush Resources. The Drummond project incorporates five granted exploration permits covering 540sq km in the Drummond Basin, 150km south of Townsville. Trigg will be exploring for epithermal and intrusion-related gold-silver deposits with existing advanced prospects plus further greenfield exploration potential. The deal saw Andromeda receive shares to the value of $250,000 and a reimbursement of expenses in addition to the upfront payment of $27,000 in cash. There was also a cash refund of $7500 in respect of the environmental bonds for the project. “The sale of Drummond is consistent with our corporate strategy of divesting non-core assets to support the commercialisation and development of The Great White Project," Andromeda chief executive officer and managing director Bob Katsiouleris said. QMines reports that drilling at its Artillery Road prospect has intersected broad copper and zinc-skarn mineralisation up to 1.0 per cent copper and and 5.1 per cent zinc. Artillery Road is a newly discovered regional target that forms part of the company's flagship Mount Chalmers project, 17km north-east of Rockhampton. QMines reports significant intersections including 23m at 0.56 per cent CuEq from 205m downhole (including 5m at 0.82 per cent CuEq from 223m); 15m at 1.01 per cent CuEq from 219m (including 5m at 1.46 per cent CuEq from 220m); and 4m at 0.90 per cent CuEq from 250m. It plans follow-up drilling to test two large copper and zinc targets. Red Metal's first proof-of-concept drill test on the Gidyea project in north-west Queensland, targeted a standout magnetic target and was terminated at 874.2m in magnetic metasedimentary rocks. The company reported that no visual copper sulphide mineralisation was evident. Wide-spaced sampling for trace-element geochemistry is in progress. The drilling attracted funding assistance of up to $275,000 from the Queensland Government under the Collaborative Exploration Initiative. The Gidyea project targets several standout magnetic and gravity anomalies which Red Metal views as an underexplored extension of the Cloncurry terrain, offering scope for the discovery of large Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) breccia systems. South Burnett Regional Council is seeking submissions for the design and construction of the Mount Wooroolin Reservoir inclusive of supply, construction, installation, testing and commissioning. The $18 million Tech4HSE program unites leading researchers in emerging technologies such as generative and immersive artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality and cybersecurity, to develop tech to aid those working in dangerous environments. The program is led by CSIRO’s data and digital arm, Data61, and the University of Queensland (UQ). Swinburne, UNSW, Curtin and ANU have also signed up as partners. The program was announced by Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic at the launch of Australia’s AI Month.
