News updates on Great Northern Minerals, Cooper Metals, Galilee Energy, Sunshine Gold and more … RC drilling has intersected visible sulphides at the King Solomon copper-gold prospect within Cooper Metals' flagship Mount Isa East project. A portable XRF has confirmed the presence of copper in the sulphides, the company said. Cooper drilled 21 holes for 1665m at King Solomon over the last two weeks, with visible sulphides including pyrite and chalcopyrite confirmed in most of the drill holes. Samples have been submitted from sixteen drill holes to the laboratory for analysis and placed on priority rush list. Galilee Energy continues to encounter gas in its five-well drilling program at the Glenaras project in Queensland's Galilee Basin. Drilling of the third well (Glenaras 27) is complete, drilled in under seven days and under budget. Glenaras 27 encountered 25m of gassy coals and possible natural fractures, Galilee said. Drilling is now underway on the fourth well (Glenaras 25). Great Northern Minerals has appointed Mike Barr as exploration manager. The company said Mr Barr had more than 40 years' experience within the mining and exploration industry. He has been involved in mine site development (Balcooma, Red Dome, Mungana, Gold Ridge, Mount Moss), brown and greenfield exploration within Australia, the Pacific Rim and Europe. "Mike has extensive knowledge of the Great Northern Minerals’ assets from his tenure with CurtainBrothers where he held the roles of chief geologist and mine manager from 2006 to 2015. CurtainBrothers held and evaluated the Camel Creek, Golden Cup and Big Rush mines during this time," the company noted. Renegade Exploration has secured an RC drilling rig to test the Lady Agnes prospect at its North Isa Project, about 35km from Mount Isa. A 1500-2000m RC drilling campaign is now underway to test the extent of copper oxides and a large underlying IP anomaly – interpreted as copper sulphides. More details HERE Sunshine Gold has kicked off conventional induced polarisation (“IP”) and TITAN IP-magnetotelluric (“MT”) surveying at its Ravenswood West project. Sunshine Gold’s Managing Director, Damien Keys commented: “Our first round of IP at Ravenswood West was extremely successful. It highlighted a strengthening chargeable anomaly in the east of Titov that correlated with the emergence of high-grade zones within the Titov Main lode. A similar chargeable anomaly was observed near the southern survey boundary at Titov South; a previously unrecognised zone of mineralisation. Owing to the success of the original IP campaign, further IP surveys have been planned for the broader Titov area and the Gagarin copper-gold-silver-molybdenum target. "A more powerful IP system, that also incorporates MT, will be used to assess a highpriority gold target at Wilburs Hill. The target is analogous in mapped lithology and soil chemistry to the nearby 1Moz Au Mount Wright deposit."
