Explorers to gather in Townsville The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies - Queensland will host a networking sundowner at The Watermark in Townsville this month. Resources Minister Scott Stewart and the recently appointed Director-General of the Department of Resources, Warwick Agnew, are expected to join the function. The Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference is an initiative to promote health and safety in the Queensland mining industry. The conference provides the industry with the opportunity to exchange information, network and foster proactive health and safety management techniques. Event date: August 20-23 September and beyond Resource Industry Network (RIN) Awards gala dinner - Mackay. Established in 2008, the awards showcase excellence in business and the significant contribution that they make to the regional economy and community. Date: Sept 1 Meeting of the Mines - Cloncurry. Hosted by the Cloncurry Shire Council, the Meeting of the Mines will provide miners, research specialists, industry and government with a platform in which to explore the latest developments in the sector. This AusIMM conference is aimed at continuing to share technical knowledge and build professional networks across operations spanning the North-West region, in a low-cost, easily accessible forum. The awards are a biennial initiative that Central Highlands Development Corporation started in 2013 to celebrate the region’s diverse and dedicated business community. Date: September 9. BBMC September Networking Luncheon - Mackay. This event will feature a keynote presentation from Thiess, on mining technology, innovation and automation. Gladstone Engineering Alliance event celebrating innovation, excellence and collaboration within the region’s industry supply chain. Date: September 27 – 6.30pm Women in Manufacturing Mackay. Hear inspiring stories from panelists at this free seated breakfast event hosted by Ai Group Queensland. Date: Oct 10 -7am-10am The ADIA’s Drillfest 2023 is being held in Queensland at the Royal Toowoomba Showgrounds, October 18-19. ADIA says Drillfests are all about increasing skills and knowledge and are aimed at not just management, but also the drill crew levels of the workforce. Organisers are planning for about 36 indoor exhibitors and 10 outdoor exhibitors.
