Heritage Minerals is making headway on its Mount Morgan gold project, with a call for expressions of interest from businesses to supply building services.

This covers planned storage facilities, a warehouse, laboratory, gold room, security, workshops, administration, and operations areas.

The company plans to issue a formal request for pricing during the week commencing September 18, with submissions closing on October 9.

Operations at Mount Morgan closed in 1990 and the abandoned mine has since been managed by the Queensland Government.

The State is backing Heritage Minerals’ plans to breathe new life into the site with support under its Invested in Queensland program.

And the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility is putting $66 million behind the project.

The proposed tailings processing plant at Mount Morgan will treat two million tonnes of tailings a year.

A new water treatment plant to be built as part of the project will improve water quality in the Dee River.

The company estimates development cost of $100 million and annual production is predicted to be 60,000 ounces of gold and an additional 5000 tonnes of copper.

Advance Rockhampton will be providing assistance to Heritage Minerals in promoting construction opportunities to the region’s contractors and suppliers.
