Carnaby Resources’ Greater Duchess project is churning out more high-grade exploration results including a 26m intercept grading at 4.0 per cent copper and 0.4g/t gold.

The result, from the Boomerang lode at Mount Hope Central, came within a broader intersection of 38m (true width about 13m) at 3.0 per cent copper and 0.3g/t gold.

The company also released pXRF readings from the Chalcus lode at Mount Hope Central including 54m at 1.8 per cent copper and 75m at 1.1 per cent copper.

Carnaby is progressing a scoping study for the project and expects this to flow through immediately into a prefeasibility study in early 2024.

“The Mount Hope Central deposit continues to show all the hallmarks of a major Iron Oxide Copper Gold discovery that is getting bigger and better with every hole drilled,” managing director Rob Watkins said.

“Critically the new holes with pXRF readings of 54m at 1.8 per cent copper and 75m at 1.1 per cent copper continue to add significant broad and high-grade metal laterally which bodes well for future economic modelling.

“The exceptional result of 38m at 3.0 per cent copper, 0.3g/t gold, including 26m at 4.0 per cent copper, 0.4g/t gold, on the Boomerang lode highlights the high-grade quality and continuity of the mineralisation.

“Drilling is ongoing at Mount Hope and we look forward to continuing to grow the discovery. We are also highly excited about the maiden drilling program which is underway at the Rio Tinto Devoncourt JV, where large-scale intrusion-hosted IOCG mineralisation is being targeted at Wimberu.”
