Douglas Shire Council – 2016-149 Port Douglas Water Storage and Trunk Water Supply Infrastructure Douglas Shire Council has identified the need to provide additional trunk water infrastructure for the Township of Port Douglas. The infrastructure required includes: a. A 20ML water storage reservoir; b. A DN450 DICL dedicated reservoir inlet main and fittings (approx. 1.75km in length); c. A DN600 DICL dedicated reservoir outlet main and fittings (approx. 1.75km in length); and d. A sealed access road (approx. 0.64km in length). e. Pump Station in Port Douglas The Scope of Works is for the construction of the water storage reservoir, trunk mains and access road including but not be limited to the following: • Site establishment/ disestablishment; • Survey set-out; • Location and protection of all conflicting underground services; • Obtaining all necessary permits and approvals; • Site clearance as required; • Liaison with affected land owners regarding access requirements during construction period including vehicular and pedestrian traffic management; • Environmental Management; • Supply of materials and construction of the new infrastructure; • Boring under existing roads and stormwater lines; • Reinstatement of roads, grass, paths, driveways, stormwater infrastructure and other private or public assets affected by the construction works; • Testing of the new trunk mains and reservoir; and • Preparation and supply of hard copy and electronic copy of the ‘As-Constructed’ drawings in accordance with Douglas Shire Council’s requirements. The site chosen for the new reservoir can be identified as Lot 8 on RP893100 and is located on Ferrero Road in Port Douglas. The alignment of the reservoir inlet and outlet mains is essentially under the Captain Cook Highway, along the eastern side of Ferrero Road, along the southern side of the road reserve past the Ergon Energy substation and along the eastern side of the currently unnamed road into Lot 8 on RP893100.
