Encouraging results at Clermont gold project
Impact Minerals has reported a high-grade find at its Clermont gold project in Central Queensland.
The company said it had identified a 2km long target zone for high grade shoots of epithermal gold-silver-base metal mineralisation at the project, which sits in the same belt as Pajingo, Mt Leyshon and Mt Wright mines
Its new interpretation follows assay data from a drill program completed in late 2018 which included the first diamond drill hole and the first full suite multi-element assays at the project.
“…results indicate there is significant exploration potential along the Retro fault system for the discovery of a major deposit and that further exploration is warranted as a priority,” Impact said in a statement to the ASX.
The program tested targets known as Retro Extended; Rosewood; Retro and Snakegrass.
Impact said the drill program had delivered two breakthrough outcomes for the project:
- A very encouraging high-grade gold-silver-base metal intercept at Retro Extended in the diamond drill hole with confirmation of epithermal textures and the nature of the sulphide mineralisation.
- Recognition that the high-grade intercept lies at the southern end of a 2km target zone for further high grade mineralisation identified in a distinctive pattern of metal zonation.
