EGRU presents critical minerals seminar

Critical minerals will be the focus of a technical workshop hosted by JCU’s Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU) on October 9.
The workshop – via Zoom from 3pm – will feature presentations by world experts on critical minerals geology from Australia, Germany and United Kingdom.
Critical minerals – required for new technologies including energy storage – generally do not occur as separate deposits, but as by-products of other commodities.
In many cases the geological processes leading to the enrichment of these minerals is not well understood, EGRU says.
