FB Contracting has started laying 8km of pipeline as part of the infrastructure upgrades for Chinchilla’s new $17.5 million potable water treatment plant. “The Chinchilla potable water treatment plant represents the final project in (Western Downs Regional) Council’s long-term plan to deliver new and improved water and wastewater infrastructure to our communities,” council utilities spokesman Peter Saxelby said. “From planning, design and now into construction, it’s great to finally see the long-awaited Chinchilla potable water treatment plant start to come to life.” FB Contracting director Dane Fewster said the pipeline works were on track to be completed by the end of July. “The pipeline infrastructure project for the Chinchilla potable water treatment plant is a great opportunity for FB Contracting to work alongside council to deliver a safe high quality outcome for the residents of Chinchilla,” he said. “Our project team are already a quarter ways through the laying down of the pipeline, which will once complete and connected, have the capacity to pump 90 litres of water per second to the new treatment plant.”
