Zenith adds to Queensland gold assets
Zenith Minerals has secured its second gold project within the same region as Evolution Mining’s Cracow and Mount Rawdon mines in southern Queensland.
The company has been granted a new exploration permit for the Flanagans project, 70km north-east of its Red Mountain gold project.
It says historical exploration activity in the area has demonstrated a very positive framework to build on.
There is evidence of a 1.5km long, 180m wide gold-rich quartz vein and the site has recorded rock chip results as high as 20g/t gold.
Zenith says no drilling has been undertaken despite the historical high-grade results and that the last meaningful field work (targeting copper) happened 32 years ago.
It plans to begin confirmatory mapping and sampling as soon as practical, subject to Zenith field staff and contractors being able to comply with current COVID-19 travel restrictions.
