Top of their game – mining award finalists revealed

A world-first tablet for underground mining, economic rehabilitation at Century mine and a very slick looking underground grader are among the top-notch projects short-listed in a key resource industry awards event.

This year’s finalists have been revealed for the Queensland Mining Awards, with winners to be revealed in five weeks’ time at the gala awards dinner in Mackay.

Bowen Basin Mining Club director Jodie Currie said submissions were extremely competitive, demonstrating that Queensland businesses continued to lead the way in innovative thinking.

“Our most popular category was the Innovation (METS) Award, with a number of outstanding innovations on the table. Judges were looking for quantifiable outcomes and future applications – and they weren’t disappointed,” Ms Currie said.
