Woomera leaves wider Gladstone channel in its wake
The Woomera backhoe dredge left Gladstone this week, marking the completion of the $80 million Clinton Vessel Interaction Project.
The Hall Contracting dredge arrived at Port of Gladstone in March, signifying the commencement of the project to deliver a permanent safety solution to the close passing of vessels in the Clinton Channel.
Gladstone Ports Corporation acting chief executive officer Craig Walker said the project had widened the channel by about 100m.
