Major Labor plunge on local council projects
Queensland Labor has committed to pump $880 million into projects in partnership with local councils to support up to 17,800 jobs.
The election commitment includes a $400 million investment in Works for Queensland, a $200 million South East Queensland Community Stimulus Package as well as another $280 million for the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme.
Under the $400 million Works for Queensland commitment, 65 regional councils will each receive two rounds of $1 million with the remainder of funds allocated based on population and unemployment levels over the next six years.
