Ballymore’s Torpy’s drilling lifts silver-lead grades closer to surface

Ballymore Resources (ASX: BMR) said the first two holes of a new drilling campaign at its Torpy's discovery near Chillagoe had extended mineralisation closer to surface.

The North Queensland explorer intersected broad zones of massive to semi-massive sulphide, carrying silver, lead, zinc and indium, in both holes.

Hole BTPRC010 returned 14 metres at 76.6 grams a tonne silver, 3.43 per cent lead and 2.32 per cent zinc from 76 metres.

Maronan invites analysts to get their boots on the ground

Mining development proponents may age, but the steely determination in their eye is renewed every day.

It is the look borne of a thousand disappointments — cyclones, floods, drought, the endless fight for investor confidence. It survives constant flights, a strict regulator’s eye, and the pull of hearth and home, among a hundred other demands.

It is all filtered through a lens of self-belief.

Ballymore builds Ruddygore target pipeline

Ballymore Resources has added a string of prospective drilling targets to its Ruddygore pipeline after expanding a gravity survey across the historic Chillagoe mining district.

The Queensland explorer said preliminary results had identified anomalies at six areas, broadening the exploration focus beyond its emerging Torpy’s silver-lead-zinc discovery.

Final processing and three-dimensional modelling are expected to help Ballymore rank the targets before future drilling.

Torpy’s silver potential grows for Ballymore

Ballymore Resources says early drilling in its latest Torpy’s campaign has extended the emerging silver-lead-zinc-indium discovery near Chillagoe in North Queensland.

The Brisbane-based explorer said the first two holes in a planned 3000m reverse circulation program had intersected broad zones of visible massive sulphide mineralisation.

Ballymore said the work extended known mineralisation closer to surface and supported the potential for multiple high-grade shoots at the Ruddygore project.

Managing director David A-Izzeddin said the new drilling campaign had delivered another strong start.

Fuel a day-to-day issue for Savannah as gold stays high

Fuel supply remains a day-to-day proposition for miners in Far North Queensland as Savannah Goldfields lifts production at its Georgetown gold processing plant.

The company says it has produced 1465.4oz of gold and 878.6oz of silver since restarting operations on November 7 last year.

Managing director Brad Sampson said diesel demand was rising as the plant moved towards nameplate production, with current consumption at about 150,000 litres a month.

Grade control drilling at Liontown

Hi-yo silver! New results highlight Liontown potential

Latest assay results from the Liontown deposit further reinforce the region’s potential for significant silver endowment, according to Sunshine Metals.

A high-grade silver interval sent to a specialised laboratory in Canada for over-range fire assay analysis returned 1m at 136.00g/t gold and 9960g/t silver from 18m.

That came within a broader zone of 30m at 6.68g/t gold and 528g/t silver from 17m.

The results stemmed from a 121-hole program targeting the Shallow Au resource at Liontown, which is part of Sunshine's Ravenswood Consolidated project.

Maiden resource out for Orient East silver-indium site

Iltani Resources has announced a maiden resource for its Orient East silver-indium deposit, hot on the heels of the QIC committing $8 million towards the potential critical minerals development.

The mineral resource estimate for Orient East stands at 19.8Mt at 98g/t silver equivalent (using a 30g/t silver equivalent cut-off grade).

It takes the total mineral resource estimate for the Orient project, in the Herberton area, to 62.5Mt at 81.5g/t Ag Eq. (30g/t Ag Eq. cut-off grade).

Iltani - drill rig at Antimony Reward

Iltani builds towards project resource estimate

Iltani is expecting a maiden Orient East resource estimate by mid-October.

This follows assay reports showing multiple wide intersections of high-grade silver-indium mineralisation at the project near Herberton on the Atherton tablelands in North Queensland.

The company released assay results drawn from two drill holes in a recent extension program.

Managing Director Donald Garner said the estimate was expected in weeks.

Map of the Maronan Metals Maronan project in North-West Queensland

Silver shines in Maronan scope

Maronan Metals (ASX: MMA) says it has a strong case to develop the Starter Zone of the Maronan Underground Project.

The lead-silver and copper-gold deposit is located 65km south-east of Cloncurry in the Isa-Carpentaria Minerals Province which includes the George Fisher, Cannington, Dugald River Ernest Henry and Eloise mines.

The company has completed a preliminary economic assessment, or scoping study, for the Starter Zone. This is an area closer to the surface which would give Maronan a quicker-time cash flow.

The Study highlights Maronan as a potential long life, diversified polymetallic operation underpinned by. . .

Silver sheen to True North’s Vero resource update

True North Copper has revealed a 20 per cent lift in silver ounces at its Vero deposit as part of an updated mineral resource estimate.

Chief executive officer and managing director Bevan Jones said it came as the precious metal was seeing a supply-demand imbalance through its use in solar and other technology.

"This updated resource also provides greater confidence in the deposit, following TNC’s first program of confirmatory drilling and a substantially updated geological model, which incorporates historic resource depletion by previous mining," he said.

Silver demand beats ‘two new Canningtons a year’

More than two new Cannington mines would have to be built each year to meet a forecast rise in silver demand out until 2040, major producer South32 says.

The company highlighted the surging demand and shortage of new operations to meet that demand in a presentation stemming from its pre-feasibility study (PFS) for development of the zinc-lead-silver Taylor Deposit at its Hermosa project in the USA.

“The project has the potential to sustainably produce the metals critical for a low-carbon future across multiple decades from different deposits," South32 chief executive officer Graham Kerr said.
