Rock on a roll as seawall takes shape
More than 375,000 tonnes of rock has now been supplied to the Port of Townsville to build a sea wall as part of the $193 million Channel Upgrade Project .
This is more than half of the total rock required to build the protective wall that will help reclaim an additional 62ha of land for port operations.
The work is the first phase of a project that will eventually widen the approach channel to the port, allowing ships of up to 300 metres in length to visit Townsville.
