Plateau mining a cash-positive prospect for Rockfire

Rockfire Resources says a preliminary scoping study has returned positive results for a small-scale, open-pit mining operation at the company's Plateau gold deposit in North Queensland.

The study indicated the operation would achieve a cash flow ranging from $6.8 million to $19.4 million, based on a spot gold price of $2220 ($US1718) per ounce.

The company recently announced a 515 per cent increase in gold ounces at the project to more than 200,000 ounces of gold. . .

Drill campaign firms faith in NQ gold project

Recent drilling at the Plateau project in North Queensland has strengthened Rockfire Resources' belief in the deposit's potential, says chief executive officer David Price.

The company this week announced results from foru additional diamond drill holes from the July to September 2020 drilling campaign at Plateau, which within its Lighthouse tenement area about 50km south-east of Charters Towers.

Gold has been intersected in each hole at Plateau, including below 600m from surface.

The latest results included a high-grade gold interval of 0.74 m at 16.9 g/t gold (half an ounce per tonne), lying within. . .

Encouraging early results at Plateau gold project

Rockfire Resources says it is receiving encouraging results from a six-hole drill program at its Plateau gold project in North Queensland.

Results from the second drill hole of the series have been received (hole BPL038), returning the largest gold intersection so far at Plateau, with mineralisation over the entire sampled interval of 341.3m at 0.2 g/t gold.

It included intervals of high-grade gold, including 0.7m at 10.8 g/t gold at 341.3m.

Rockfire delves deeper at NQ gold tenements

Rockfire Resources is kicking off a new drilling campaign at its Plateau gold prospect, spurred on by similarities to the 1.5Moz-plus Mount Wright gold deposit.

The company recently raised the equivalent of more than $1.8 million through a share placement to fund work at Plateau, which is within its Lighthouse tenement area about 50km south-east of Charters Towers.

The plan is to complete deeper drill testing of Plateau to about 500m below surface, and chief executive officer David Price said work commenced this week.

Previous drilling to depths of 230m has resulted in the identification. . .
