Bidding for the 'Blue Meanie' once owned by Australian motor racing supremo Peter Brock has passed the $1 million mark.

The 1985 HDT VK Group A build #005, once Brock's personal car, is being auctioned by Grays.

Fans with a seven-figure sum to spare will have to get in quick for a piece of the action - bidding closes at 9.30pm tonight. (May 25)

Grays says the true blue offering still belongs to the same family that bought it from Brock.

Two 1980s Holdens are expected to fetch over $1 million when they go to auction next week.

The VL Walkinshaw and VN SS Group A will be auctioned at midday on April 24.

Lloyds Auctions chief operations officer Lee Hames said all signs pointed to the two vehicles attracting plenty of interest and big bucks.

Roaring demand for classic Aussie cars is continuing to rev up auctions.

Grays reported record interest in its online February Classic Car Auction, with more than 1.3 million total page views and nearly 200,000 unique visitors checking out the range of classic Fords and Holdens.

The auction saw 330 classics go under the virtual hammer.

The top four sales recorded included a 1978 Ford XC Cobra #206 - sold for $194,000, a 1970 Ford Falcon XW GT - sold for $183,000, a 1977 Ford Falcon XC Fairmont Coupe - sold for $170. . .

A very rare Lotus 12 Sakabat described as an extremely important part of Australian motor racing history is going up for auction this weekend.

The motor alone has a story to tell as possibly the oldest surviving motor raced by Formula One World Champion Jack Brabham.

“Any vehicle with a celebrity affiliation, provenance or an iconic history is set to go up in value," Lloyds Auctions chief operations officer Lee Hames said.

"Who knows what this car will end up selling for.”

This electric blue Ford has just become the most expensive Australian-made production car to be sold at auction.

The 1971 Ford XY Falcon GT-HO Phase III went for $1.15 million ($1.2 million with buyer's premium) in Slattery's Ultimate Aussie Car Auction this week.

That beat the $1.05 million paid in January for a Holden HSV GTSR W1 Maloo ute.

The new record-holder is a Queenslander at heart.

This 2017 GTSR W1 Maloo Ute has broken the record for Australia’s most expensive road registerable muscle car, selling under the hammer for $1,050,000.

“There were three bidders that bid over $1,000,000 on the Maloo Ute with two of them being Holden enthusiasts," Lloyds Auctions chief executive officer Lee Hames said.

"However the winning bidder is a group specialising in raffling off unique cars, so I don’t think it will be the last time we see this car.”

The weekend auction also saw Australia’s very last serial numbered Holden sold for $750,000. . .

Walkinshaw Andretti United’s Chassis 25 currently being driven in the Supercars series by Chaz Mostert is up for auction this weekend on the eve of the Bathurst 1000 great race.

Brabham Automotive has launched a street-legal version of its BT62 hypercar - the Brabham BT62R.

And it says it is already filling multiple orders from customers in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere for the car, priced at $1.5 million.

With 522kW (700hp) of power and 667 Nm of torque on tap, the Brabham BT62R features the highest-output, naturally aspirated V8 on the market.

The engine is the same 5.4 litre, Brabham V8 engine as the Ultimate Track and Competition variants but with revised engine mapping for use on the road.
