Drill results add spark to Millennium graphite hopes

A diamond drilling program has delivered high-grade graphite intersections near surface at the Millennium project in North-West Queensland.

Highlights include 13.1m at 12.23 per cent TGC (total graphitic carbon) from 1m in drillhole MI25DD03 and 30.85m at 14.11 per cent TGC from 60.4m in MI25DD04.

Drilling and assaying for the critoical battery metal at Millennium was majority funded under a $275,000 Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) grant.

Metal Bank eyes Rocklands processing route

Metal Bank has joined the line of junior miners signing up for potential toll treatment at Austral Resources' Rocklands processing facility in North-West Queensland.

Metal Bank (ASX:MBK) holds the advanced Millennium cobalt-copper-gold project, within 20km of Rocklands, in joint venture with Global Energy Metals.

It has entered a non-binding MOU to evaluate potential toll treatment at Rocklands, in a move Austral (ASX:AR1) describes as another positive step towards consolidation in the Cloncurry and Mount Isa region.

Millennium core review comes up trumps for graphite

A trawl through 2022 drilling samples from the Millennium project in North-West Queensland has turned up thick, high-grade graphite intersections.

Metal Bank initiated the program to re-assay selected copper-cobalt-gold core samples after recent drilling results highlighted the presence of the key battery metal in the deposit.

The project stands in a potential graphite development hot spot for Queensland, with nearby graphite sites including the Corella, Burke and Mount Dromedary deposits.

Significant results from the re-assay program included:

    • 56m at 18.29 per cent graphite from 66m

Millennium cobalt project scores high recovery rates

Exceptional cobalt, copper and gold recovery results have emerged for the Millennium project in North-West Queensland.

Project owner Global Energy Metals reported the results after testwork completed by Cobalt Blue Holdings using its processing technology.

The work showed that high-grade copper and cobalt concentrates could be readily floated from samples from the  Millennium deposit.

It achieved float recoveries of 93 per cent cobalt, 93 per cent copper, and 80 per cent gold into concentrates.

Cobalt Blue Process successfully treated the cobalt concentrate for extraction of 90 per cent cobalt, 95 per cent copper, with 90 per cent. . .
