Como enlisted as Ausmex weighs up processing options

Ausmex has brought Como Engineers onboard to help weigh up its processing options as it pushes ahead with plans to start producing gold by the end of the year.

The company plans to establish a Cloncurry mining hub with multiple pits centred on the Mount Freda and Golden Mile gold projects.

The operations would employ 50-100 people, and Ausmex executive director and chief operating officer Geoff Kidd said the company planned to use a local workforce and to support local business.

PepinNini shifts focus to new gold operation

Adelaide-based PepinNini Lithium has launched a restructure as it concentrates its focus on plans to start mining at Gilded Rose, near Cloncurry.

It will suspend its flagship lithium project in Argentina and seek a new managing director to take the Gilded Rose gold project into production.

The announcement comes a week after PepinNini agreed to purchase the mine from Ausmex in a $4 million deal., with plans to start mining in 2021
