New industry reporting requirements

New industry reporting practice directions, together with new data submission templates, are now available for minerals and coal, and petroleum and gas authority holders.The practice directions guide holders in lodging geoscience and tenure reports via the GSQ Lodgement Portal and using new data submission templates. 

The practice directions and templates will become mandatory on from tomorrow, 1 October 2020.

Portal transports explorers to data riches

A Geological Survey of Queensland portal launched this week breaks new ground for explorers looking to work with data more efficiently, says Queensland Exploration Council chair Kim Wainwright.

The QEC, an arm of the Queensland Resources Council, has commended the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy for the launch of the GSQ Open Data Portal.

Part of the department’s Geoscience Data Modernisation Project, the portal brings together all data held by GSQ to a single simplified platform for industry. (Visit the portal HERE)

Webinars introduce new geoscience systems

Webinars kick off this week to walk users through two new systems designed to transform the delivery and management of Queensland’s geoscience data.

The Geological Survey of Queensland is hosting an introduction to the new GSQ Open Data Portal and the GSQ Lodgement Portal.

Sessions are available on July 23, 27 and 30.

The GSQ Open Data Portal will make Queensland geoscience data easier to find, access and use. The portal, which will replace the QDEX Data system, launches on August 3, 2020.
