CS Energy has released a photo showing the damage to Unit C4 at Callide Power Station after a fire that sparked a major electricity outage last week.

The company has confirmed it will replace the damaged equipment and does not expect that generating unit to come back online for 12 months.

A $60 million overhaul starts at CS Energy's Callide Power Station next week, creating work for about 140 Queensland contractors and $6 million in flow-on benefits to Biloela.

Downer is acting as major contractor for the project, set to run from June 20 to November 30.

A $49 million overhaul and maintenance program has kicked off at CS Energy’s Callide Power Station.

Energy Minister Dr Anthony Lynham said approximately 370 contractors would be on site for the major program of works, which will run until early December.

A $48.5 million overhaul of one of the generating units at CS Energy’s Callide Power Station is complete.

The completion of a $20 million shutdown at CS Energy’s Callide Power Station complex later this month will cap off a heavy overhaul and maintenance program at the central Queensland site in 2016.
