Crater Gold Mining has signed an agreement with DRC Drilling to undertake the next drilling program at the Company’s Croydon Projects in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

It’s scheduled to start at the end of this month or beginning of May. 

Last year’s drilling program culminated in four graphite discoveries at the Company’s S1-S, S4 & S7 anomaly areas.

In addition to follow up drilling at these areas, the Company will be undertaking drilling at other anomaly target areas. 

The program will mainly involve diamond drilling. The program will also include drilling at the Company’s Polymetallic areas.

The graphite finds stemmed from a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program undertaken in November, following on from anomalies identified in a helicopter-borne EM survey.

Drill results included graphite intersections ranging up to 6.02 per cent over 21m and 8.8 per cent over 5m.

The four new areas of graphite mineralisation were discovered at EM anomalies dubbed S1-S, S4-N, S7 and 1.5km north-west of the Golden Gate graphite prospect.

“We are delighted with the results from our initial drilling program from Croydon,” managing director Russ Parker said at the time.

“The results from S1-South extend our Golden Gate graphite prospect area by over 1.5km to the south east and the results at S4 are equally as impressive, already indicating a strike length of over 800m.

“At S7 it is interesting that the graphite recorded was basically from surface. We plan to target further EM identified areas in our upcoming drilling program due to commence late April/early May.”

The diamond core drilling program planned at Croydon will concentrate on EM anomaly S3 as well as following up on the four new discoveries.
