MI Scaffold has secured a $60 million-plus contract for work at BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s Bowen Basin coal mines and Hay Point coal terminal.

Parent company Acrow said the contract renewal for MI Scaffold had an initial term of three years, with an additional one-year extension option.

The agreement guaranteed a baseline revenue of about $15 million per annum, with scope to increase the baseline revenue by up to $4 million per annum, it said.

“Securing this contract renewal with a blue-chip organisation like BMA is a strong endorsement of Acrow’s, and in this case MI Scaffold’s, industrial access service offering,” Acrow chief executive officer Steven Boland said.

“I congratulate our Mackay team for having done a tremendous job in securing what now becomes our single largest contract win for our Industrial Access business.”

MI Scaffold, founded in May 2012, offers specialised access and rigging solutions for the mining, marine, industrial and commercial markets in the Mackay, Bowen Basin and Gladstone regions.

The BMA contract renewal announced today includes the provision of equipment and labour hire to support maintenance and shutdown access work.

Acrow said the new contract would be implemented progressively as existing agreements expired, and there were no material conditions that needed to be satisfied prior to commencement.
