News updates on Aeon Metals, Alice Queen, IMARC, Sustainable Minerals Institute (UQ) courses and more … Alice Queen says a newly completed Dipole Dipole Induced Polarisation (DDIP) survey at its Horn Island gold project confirms an open and large scale chargeability anomaly greater than 5km in length. High concentrations of coarse gold have also been returned from previous pan concentrate sampling from multiple locations across the survey area associated with this anomaly. "With our drill program planned to commence in February, we are one step closer to fulfilling our strategy to realise the multi-million ounce potential of Horn Island," Alice Queen managing director Andrew Buxton said. Step-out drilling at Aeon Metals' Walford Creek project has confirmed the potential for the extension of mineralisation directly adjacent to the existing resource at Marley. "Armed with a proven geological model, we are very confident that further value can be added by continuing exploration in the 2022 field season along the fault," Aeon managing director and chief executive officer Dr Fred Hess said. “The Aeon operations team are now planning the 2022 exploration drilling campaign, scheduled tobegin in May." The Fair Work Commission has suspended the right of entry permit of CFMMEU official Beau Seiffert for three months and banned the issue of any further entry permit to him for the same period. It comes after the Federal Court last year penalised the CFMMEU and eight of its officials $121,000 for 36 contraventions of right of entry laws at Queensland’s Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project in 2018. (In that case Mr Seiffert was fined $8000 for his two contraventions of the Fair Work Act). Beacon Events has announced the rescheduled dates for the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), to be held in Melbourne, Victoria, from October 17-19, 2022. With international borders set to reopen in the coming weeks, there is an expectation that by October 2022 there will be greater travel freedoms globally, allowing for the conference to attract a large domestic and international audience in-person once again.
