News updates on R3D Resources, ADIA, Carnaby Resources, Essex Minerals, Great Northern Minerals and more … Carnaby Resources plans to start first-pass drilling immediately after Induced Polarisation (IP) surveys at Mount Hope, within the Greater Duchess copper-gold project, revealed a very large and extremely strong IP chargeability anomaly. Exploration at the North-West Queensland project is ramping up, with extensive IP surveys ongoing and drilling continuing with two drill rigs. A detailed aeromagnetic survey has just been completed along the Nil Desperandum IOCG corridor, highlighting a strong structural corridor between and beyond Nil Desperandum and Lady Fanny. Thomson Resources has kicked off an initial RC (reverse circulation) and DD (diamond drilling) program at the historical Silver Spur mine, located within its Texas silver-base metal project in South-East Queensland. The initial program consists of up to 2000 m of diamond core (DD) and reverse circulation (RC) drilling to test depth and strike extensions of the current resource and near-resource exploration targets. Visit the page HERE Charters Towers Regional Council has appointed Martin Drydale as chief executive officer. Mayor Frank Beveridge said Mr Drydale had proven to be an asset to the council since commencing on an interim basis as director corporate and community services in March and then as interim chief executive officer in May. Mr Drydale brings extensive local government and private sector experience, having previously worked for Noosa Shire Council and local government in the UK. R3D Resources has intersected sphalerite-dominant massive and semi-massive sulphides in the first drill hole at the Queen Grade project in the Chillagoe region. (Details HERE) “This intersection is very encouraging as it demonstrates zinc mineralisation is continuous and wideningwith increasing depth within the Queen Grade zinc main mineralised horizon," R3D chief executive officer and managing director Stephen Bartrop said. He said the Queen Grade zinc project had not been a priority of the past owners of the Tartana mining leases, however the 12m intersection reaffirmed R3D's belief that it could develop into a significant zone of zinc mineralisation. Great Northern Minerals plans to start its Golden Cup drilling program in the last week of July. The Golden Cup deposit is part of the company's Golden Ant project in North Queensland. An initial 1100m of RC drilling is planned to follow up on Great Northn's last Golden Cup drilling program, which was completed in December 2019 and returned high-grade gold intercepts including 7m at 7.5 g/t gold from 32m and 9m at 4.7 g/t gold from 42m. Essex Minerals says that Meryllion Resources Corporation intends to exercise its option to earn up to a 70 per cent interest in the Mount Turner copper-molybdenum-gold project by funding up to a further $3.8 million in exploration in three stages. The Mount Turner property comprises two granted exploration permits totaling about 104 sq km in the Georgetown area. “We are very pleased that our initial exploration has demonstrated the potential for the discovery of a large copper-molybdenum (with silver and gold) deposit at Mount Turner and has resulted in favourable option and earn-in joint venture terms with Meryllion,”Essex Minerals president and chief executive officer Paul Loudon said. In addition to the exploration programs, Meryllion will pay Essex $25,000 for the option and $75,000 to exercise the option. DevEx Resources has started diamond drilling at its Nabarlek uranium project, located in the Alligator Rivers Uranium Province (ARUP) of the Northern Territory. The current program will test multiple high-grade uranium prospects that surround the historical Nabarlek uranium mine (previous production of 24Mlbs grading at 1.8% U3O8). Amidst a strong resurgence in the uranium spot price – with recent prices reaching 10-year highs above US$50/lb U3O8 – DevEx is one of a select few ASX-listed companies permitted and actively exploring for high-grade uranium in Australia.
